Its not wisdom, just the facts, sir.

PROFILE

I never thought that 6 years of college, a drunken fish story, and a 6 month "temporary" job in Alaska would wind up with a career in radio. My first contact with radio came when a local morning show asked for the "stupidest thing you ever did while drunk". I won the contest with my "Fish Story" (call me for details), collected my prize, and was told to call the morning show any time.
Several hundred harassing calls later, I heard the morning show was in the market for a news guy. As a joke, I came down and "auditioned",  commenting on the news of the day, including O.J., a guy who drove a tank down a San Diego Freeway, and the latest exploits of the Assembly, Theresa Obermeyer, and the Legislature. I was hired, but told the morning guys that I wouldn't just "read" news stories off the wire service. I figured any schmo could read the same stuff in the newspaper.  I'd give them the story, but my way! I needed a name, and because of my obvious accent, the "Hitman" was born.

I eventually moved up the ranks, from newsperson to news director, to CO-Host of what has truly become Alaska's Morning Show with Bob and Mark. I love what I do, to be able to vent on the air, to talk about things many of us can't, for one reason or another, speak of aloud in the office, or on the job.  My aggressive, take no prisoners attitude, is born, mostly out of necessity, having grown up in Brooklyn, but is also reflected in the music I enjoy.  Heavy Metal.  I'm currently working on a specialty program called "Metal Shop".

In the end, what I try to do, is bring a smile to the faces of people on their way to work or wherever the day takes them.  Whether it is through the news, doing voices, parody songs, or just plain ranting and raving, I try to entertain and inform.  If I get you to think a little about what's going on in the world, and maybe forget the problems we all face on a daily basis, if just for a moment, then I've done my job.
