Color genetics is fun when you can understand that it IS possible to breed a black to a black and get a bright red! Bonfire's first several daughters were all chestnuts while his sons were 1 bay and the rest black.
Daughters were rare at first and we were beginning to wonder if chestnut and female were linked somehow. (lol) We kept Ember as a broodmare and she has given us Liberty by Amberfields Desperado and is now in foal to Quietude Jubilee Kingdom for a 2004 flaxen chestnut, sabino - we hope!
